Wagons Skill Foundation

Initiatives will empower all individuals through improved skills, knowledge, nationally and internationally recognized qualifications to gain access to decent employment and ensure India’s competitiveness in the global market.
Skills and knowledge are the driving forces of economic growth and social development for any country. Countries with higher and better levels of skills adjust more effectively to the challenges and opportunities of world of work.Major challenge of skill development initiatives is also to address the needs of huge population by providing skills in order to make them employable and help them secure decent work.
Skill development for persons working in the unorganized sector is a key strategy in that direction. This will also inculcate dignity of labour and create greater awareness towards environmental, safety and health concerns.
Skill building can be viewed as an instrument to improve the effectiveness and contribution of labor to the overall production. It is as an important ingredient to push the production possibility frontier outward and to take growth rate of the economy to a higher trajectory. Skill building could also be seen as an instrument to empower the individual and improve his/her social acceptance or value.

  • Focus: Ensuring that our training programs lead to tangible job opportunities, particularly in the BFSI (Banking, Financial Services, and Insurance) sector.
  • Impact: More than 75% of our trained candidates secure employment, underscoring our commitment to not just skilling but also placing our trainees in meaningful careers.

Bridging and Connecting with Employers

  • Focus: Leveraging our extensive corporate reach to establish strong connections with employers, especially in the BFSI domain, to facilitate job placements for our trainees.
  • Impact: Our partnerships with leading financial institutions have enabled us to offer real job opportunities to our candidates, making us a trusted bridge between education and employment.

Lives Impacted through Skill Development

  • Focus: Beyond just numbers, we focus on the lives touched through our training programs.
  • Impact: Through our CSR initiatives, we have trained approximately 115,000 candidates. Considering an average family size of 5, our efforts have positively impacted over 575,000 lives. This highlights our broader societal impact, helping not just individuals but entire communities to thrive.

Wagons Learning – Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR)

Our CSR initiative as commitment of business to contribute for sustainable economic development, aims at creating higher standards of living, while preserving profitability of the corporation. The traditional Artisans like Carpenters, Blacksmiths, Goldsmiths, Copper/Bronze smiths, Masons, Stone workers, Bamboo/Cane workers, Potters, Cobblers etc, constitute the vast chunk of labour in the unorganized sector of the Indian economy. Other than inherited skill, these artisans possess neither formal education nor income-generating assets. Besides poverty, these groups are also victims of social and economic exclusion, since there is hardly any national initiative for their inclusive development.

Program Impact

Digital Financial Literacy Program (DFLP):

  • Objective: To introduce rural India to digital financial literacy and help them manage money more efficiently.
  • Impact: Trained 100,000 direct beneficiaries under the DFLRI (Digital Financial Literate Rural India) programs by the end of 2025. The training materials were customized to better suit the target group, including materials specifically designed for women.
  • Lives Touched: 500,000 lives impacted.

Deen Dayal Upadhyaya Grameen Kaushalya Yojana (DDU-GKY):

  • Objective: A skilling and placement initiative aimed at training rural youth in BFSI industry-specific job roles.
  • Impact: Trained 1,100 students over four years, with 70% securing employment in leading financial institutions, significantly improving their living standards.
  • Lives Touched: 5,500 lives impacted.

Certified Mutual Fund Advisor Programme (CMAP):

  • Objective: A comprehensive program that includes soft-skill and domain-specific training with premium certifications like NISM VA, leading to job opportunities in finance.
  • Impact: Trained 2,000 candidates over four years, with 92% successfully completing the NISM VA certification and 71% getting placed in financial institutions.
  • Lives Touched: 10,000 lives impacted.

Investor Awareness Program (IAP):

  • Objective: To educate the common man and prospective investors about financial planning and management.
  • Impact: Trained 900 candidates through more than 12 workshops and seminars, enhancing financial literacy and long-term financial planning.
  • Lives Touched: 4,500 lives impacted.

Yuva Kaushal 2.0:

  • Objective: To train underprivileged students in both technical and soft skills, making them job-ready for financial institutions.
  • Impact: 250 underprivileged students were successfully trained, with 70% securing employment in various banks, small finance companies, and NBFCs.
  • Lives Touched: 1,250 lives impacted..

Certificate Programme in Banking, Finance & Insurance (CPBFI) – Partner Bajaj Finserv:

  • Objective: To help small-town graduates, especially first-generation ones, become employable in the financial sector.
  • Impact: Trained 2,500+ students with an additional 200+ currently undergoing training. 60% of trained students were certified and placed in renowned companies in the BFSI industry.
  • Lives Touched: 12,500 lives impacted.
